but i do have a pad kontrol and have watched your videos. so..i go to map the eq8 like you have in a video, but i'm confounded there. how do i set them like that? i click on the first band and try to set the gain and frequency to pads 9 and 11, but wha-? how do i layer it precisely? like i said, i'm not smart, but i really want to learn about this padkontrol as a global remote for ableton live, as well as controlling the eq and other filtering aspects similar to using the eq layout. so...man, i think i may need a lil push to get my wheelchair going thru this one...thanks man.

The method I was using in the vid is actually not a very good way of doing it. It works fine for certain plug ins, but it messes up others. I wouldn’t suggest doing it that way.
I’d suggest using Instant Mapping to do this. That will give you 8 bankable knobs you can use to control any plug in. I already have this set up available for download as part of the Total Kontrol Package 2.0. I’d suggest trying that and watching the vid on Total Kontrol 2.0 In Use on my YouTube channel for an explanation of how it works.
If you want to set it up for yourself though, let me know and I’ll try to help you with that.

i'm also a bit confused on the instant mapping as opposed to manual mapping. i want to be able to use the control pad for pretty much everything.

Instant mapping lets you use the same 8 knobs to control any plug in. Manual mapping 8 knobs would only let you use them to control one plug in.
