I love music since the early 80's, have wanted to produce but never had the heart until I got a job at Apple and My sister made me. The is something I did using all loops in Garageband. I thought it was nothing but my sister (after hearing it) and now push me to do more song. I hope to have many more after I get some more hardware and software. Like a full version of Live and reason. Here is my link... web.mac.com/jixii1270

Test – Kind of an evil vibe to this one…I like that. Seems like it could use a bassline and the choir could probably be EQd a bit to make room for vocals. Then again, this could work just as an instrumental too.
Time to Heal – This one is a heater…loving the drums and piano. The drum change up is nice, but I think the pattern you started with fits this better. And this one sounds alright without a bassline.
Overall this is some good work, keep em coming.

Thanks for the input, by the way. When are you coming out with something? The things you come up with sound great. I wish I ha started back when I was younger. At 36 i feel I have a late jump on the game. It will be winter by the I have all the software and hardware I need to get tarted. I am still using a lite version of Live 6 and Logic Express.
Question for you, can I get a great pair of monitors for under $300. For am I going to have to shell out more for a good sound. I am hoping to spend no more then $500 for a pair.

It's probably gonna be a little bit before I get back to making music again...personal stuff. Right now, I'm just concentrating on learning different methods/techniques and building my sample libraries/sound banks.
For monitors, I paid $400 for mine (Event PS6s) and I'm happy with them. They were floor models at Guitar Center....I think they normally went for $500. But there's a bunch of current models that should fall into that price range. I'd suggest you try to get 6" woofers or more for hip-hop.

Hey man just checkin in on Test to say I love the vibe, it reminds me a ton of Mike Patton...which is awesome for me. Keep it up!
I'm using much of the same gear as you from what it sounds like, and I've gotten pretty good with Logic Pro just from watching macprovideo.com tutorials.

Test: Like the laid back beat. The groove and slight swing of the piano work great. Dig the voices. Lots of nice elements here
Time To Heal: Strings could be a little more dynamic. Like the beat. I'm never a huge fan of arpeggios (if thats the right word - the piano at the start that more or less runs thru the track), but that's just personal preference. Even so, I still enjoyed the whole track which says how well the rest compensates. The piano that comes in about halfway is great.
Well done Like the feel of both pieces!
