Hi Stray,
As this is my first post i just wanted to say thanks for the videos. They've been a great guide in helping me with my live looping set up so cheers for that.
I have a quick question though after watching 'Setting up a Surface Control'
I have followed this all the way through and set up the auto hot key and this works great, but i noticed that you then assign the hotkey to a pad using bomes midi translator.
I also use this software, but have found that when i set midi changes to the padkontrol in bome, that the padkontrol is then locked to bomes software and i can't then use it in ableton. i seems to lock it in ableton and in the midi sync tab you can't select the padkontrol anymore. i read somewhere that it's because a midi controller can't be used by two separate programs at the same time or something along those lines
How have you managed to get round this? If i could find out how to do this it would make my setup so much better so any help on it would be greatly appreciated
Cheers
Tems

I never experienced that problem. I use padKontrol port A for the MIDI In in Bome’s. And padKontrol Port A for Track and Remote in Live. So the pK is sending messages to both of them at the same time.
The only thing I could think is that maybe your driver isn’t installed properly. When you select the padKontrol in Bome’s or Live, do you have “padKontrol port A” or do you have something like “USB device 1”?

It's all installed properly as far as i know and it has the options named for the padkontrol i.e. padkontrol port A, but it still didn't let me access it in ableton when i was using it in bome.
I managed to get round the problem using midi yoke though, and now i've got it all working sweetly.
Cheers for your reply though and thanks again for the videos
