hi everybody, i'm new to this board. found it through stray's excellent youtube videos.
i'm about to get me a padkontrol and i have an ibm thinkpad t43 laptop that doesn't have firewire so i'm stuck with usb 2.0.
my budget is pretty low so i'm looking for a low-end usb 2.0 audio device. i'm currently thinking about either the emu 0202 or the tascam us-122l. does anybody have any experiences with either of these two?
being new to the game my setup is gonna be pretty limited. just the padkontrol + an audio interface and possibly a midi keyboard.
my main goal is to write songs, and possibly record some demos in a decent quality.
any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I've never used a USB interface before, but I know a couple people using the Emu and they're happy with it.

thanks, i think i'll go with the emu then.
another question: will the TKP work with live lite 4 korg edition?
also is the TKP strictly made for ableton live or can it also be used in cubase?
i'm thinking about using cubase, but do you think live is more suited for the padkontrol?
thanks.

No, TKP is only for Live 6.
And the padKontrol would work fine in either Cubase or Live or any other sequencer/DAW.
