I use AVG Free (made by Grisoft). Tried McAfee and Norton too, but found AVG much less intrusive, quicker to use and adds less to Windows boot time also. DL it from www.grisoft.comIt can be tricky to find even on their site but there is definately a free version there. They just move it around from time to time. Its not a trial version and if its feature limited in any way i haven't missed those features yet. You might DL 5 wrong versions first before u get the right one. That's normal.

I'd stear clear of running anything at all while using the DAW itself. If your worried about intrusion just get off the net while you edit/produce.
If you have the system resources to handle running everything and not worry about it, NOD32 is the absolute best thing out there. Having worked for a major security developer I'm a qualified judge.

I’d suggest buying a cheap machine for the net and other non-production related tasks. Even with security, there’s too many risks involved IMO. Of course, that depends on how serious you are about production though.
