I am just curious how you handled the switching between inversions on one button. I was messing around with it, but assigning it to one buton only gave the min and max values (I was using it with chain select in my rack).
how did you set that up?

I just scaled the range of the chain selector when I mapped it, which you can do right in the MIDI (or Key) mapping window.
Since there were 3 versions of each chord, I set the range to 0 – 2.

Forgot to mention, this doesn't work with CCs for some reason. Only notes or key commands.

hmm, am I missing something here? I tried that exact thing but when pressed it gave me the max, when i let go it gave me the min. I was using a CC for it, but weren't you using a CC in the video? Your inversion key was lit up. I didn't think you could make a "key" or "note" stay lit.

I use MIDI Translator which translates the CC into a keystroke.

Maybe I am missing something but I can't see the progression builder in the example Ableton live file in the Total Kontrol Package download.
Would you mind explaining what you are doing? Are you taking single notes from the padKontrol and then using Ableton to generate the chords?
Thanks, the videos and the information is much appreciated!

Sorry for the confusion. Progression Builder and the other add ons are optional, they’re not included as part of the standard TKP.
I said I was gonna put up the recipes for all the add ons, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I’ll make a new post for the Progression Builder recipe this PM or tomorrow AM.

Thanks for the quick reply. Your videos really sold me on the Korg padKontrol and the possibilities. I used to DJ and producer music frequently back in the day but started to get frustrated with how long things took to put things together. I am a good dj and engineer, but not always so good at getting the ideas in my head to quickly come out musically without tedious work. Being able to quickly map chords, keys, etc is wonderful because it makes it so much faster to get an idea out and jam without worrying about playing exactly right.
