Results may vary from depending on ur set up i guess - so try it out off stage first!!! And post back with results. Can't get this goin on my machine coz my soundcard gets upset if there are two apps accessing it. Even 2 different apps.
This is how to do it on a PC. Guessing its the same on Mac but I heard u guys have to copy the application folder. That's all I know Mac-wise.
-Options/ Preferences / Look and feel / "Allow Multiple Instances" -Leave Live running and launch a second instance. -OK the error about another running rewire app detected. -Go to the first set: -Preferences / MDI Sync... -Go to the Midi Ports section (bottom half of that MIDI Sync page) and find your soundcards output. -Turn "sync" on. -Go to the 2nd set: -Preferences / MDI Sync... -Go to the Midi Ports section (bottom half of that MIDI Sync page) and find your soundcards input. -Turn "sync" on. -Turn on the "EXT" button (next to master tempo)
Now go back to the first set and press play and you sould have what u want.
I haven't seen this being tried while using rewire at the same time but I'm told it a bit of a train wreck.

This is definitely a good tip for live usage...any ideas on how it might benefit a studio situation?

For those who like to use 8faders/knobs and have something like a B-Control it can seem a bit neater.
Each live set could have a corresponding preset on the controller, (different bunch of CCs assigned, or different midi channel) so that they control only one set of faders.
So many controllers out there doin different stuff, theres probably loads of ways this could be made real slick. Maybe like having a pad or scene selection mapped to ALT+Tab so that choosing it could select the 2nd set of controls and also call up the 2nd set on screen at the same time. Other than that (which I haven't really thought thru) I was mostly thinkin of it for live use myself.
I've heard people are usin three instances apparently, 1 for video 1 for lights 1 for tunes. Haven't tried that yet.

Definitely interesting ideas. As soon as I decide on the knob box I'm gonna get, I have to mess with this.

Yes, I think they'd work better than regular knobs for tempo, the chopper and other stuff in Live.
