iigh so my question is. i got ableton 6. and i don't see any feature to chop samples like in the ableton 4 lite korg edition and it doesn't look anything like it. and i don't know how to operate it like it is in the korg edition.

I never used the Korg edition in any of my vids, it was always Live 6.
But, for starters, there’s two views in Live…Session and Arrangement. You can switch between the two by hitting the Tab key. Does doing that make it look more like what you saw in the vids?
As far as the chopping, that was something I set up in Live, it’s not a feature built in. I could tell you how to set it up, but if you’re new to Live, it might be confusing.
If possible, spend some time going through the Lessons in Live (under Help). They will show you all the basics in Live. Then you can look at my thread on here called “The Chopper Recipe” and probably be able to set it up for yourself. If not, just post another question and I’ll help you the best I can.

No, I'm sorry but I don't use any instant messengers.
What mapping are you trying to delete?

lmao...my fault for that. The recipe gives instructions for people using the Total Kontrol Package which has a bunch of stuff mapped, but it sounds like you figured that out for yourself. So, yeah, do everything except for deleting the mapping.

Again…my fault. I left 2 things out of the recipe.
1. Under Start and End, you have to turn the Loop switch off…so it’s not lit. 2. For the Quantization menu (it’s on the top toolbar to the left of the pencil), put that on 1/16 or none.

No, but to use the X/Y pad as a knob like this, you have to turn the Hold switch on.

do you have to keep pressing the sample button so that you can use the x/y and knob cause that's seems like the only time it changes the start/end

No, once you hit the Clip Launch button and you’re looking at Clip View for the clip (sample)…you should be able to adjust the Start and End times…whether the sample is playing back or not.

For the way I did it in the vid (and the way I normally sample), I don't adjust the end times, just the start. That makes it so you have a smooth transistion between the chops, with no break in between.
I really only use the end control when I'm chopping up drum breaks.
