Dear and honored Max4Live Users! Dear Stray!
I´m using Live for years now but i have no experience in scripting whatsoever.
But theres is an idea I´m having and I id like to know if:
*) you could guide and help me to find a finished device that does that - m4l.com does not have anything like that (and i recently found out in the Ableton Forums that you cant access the Push browser with M4L) *) you help me if theres a possibility to script something like that for everybody to use *) you tell me where to find freelancers for scripting the desired device
Heres a short description:
I need a small device that either :
*) randomly loads a new preset from the actual folder the current instrument on the actual track is in (packs, instruments) *) or randomly loads a preset (even if its a new kind of instrument) from the sounds-folders in the library (synth leads, pads, etc...)
when i push a button on it for single track reloading - or being able to reload all the tracks at once over all the single devices with a trigger
Id love to have a Ableton powered "groovebox" i can play with that totally reloads and recombines sounds for me by itself so i "have to" work my way through with sounds that i never would have loaded into my tracks in that combination myself. Kind of a "must-improvise" every time.
All the best and thanks for your time, Philip

Welcome to the forum. M4L devices can't natively access the browser, but they can communicate with ClyphX, which can access the browser. There's an example M4L device here that demonstrates how the interaction works. So the raw tools you need to do what you're after are available and free. If you can't find someone to help you put the pieces together, send me an email or post here again towards the end of the summer and I might be able to help you out with it.
