Well it seems to work, but its playing stationary pads, and not moving when i move the frame up and down in the drum rack do i need to do this? : forgive me i have NO clue what this all means or how to do it? SCRIPT TRANSFER 1. Make sure "Show Hidden Files and Folders" is turned on. 2. Copy the folder named "nanoPAD". 3. Go to Documents and Settings\(your name or owner)\Application Data\Ableton\Live x.x.x\Preferences\User Remote Scripts. 4. Paste the folder. LIVE SETTINGS Under Control Surfaces, select "nanoPAD". For Input, select the nanoPAD (should be "nanoPAD 1 PAD"). Also turn the Track switch on for nanoPAD 1 PAD. HUH? i went to preferences and didnt see padkontrol under control surfaces

Yes, you need to do the script transfer. If you don’t, you won’t see the “nanoPAD” as an option in Live and the pads won't work properly. Which part of the instructions are you having trouble with?

Thanks.
My apologies. You can do this right from My Computer or Explorer. Just open one of those windows, find Tools on the top toolbar and select Folder Option. On the window that pops up, select the View tab. Then look down the list for “Show hidden files and folders”. Click the circle next to that. Then click Apply, then OK.
Yup, that’ll work.

The X/Y controls the first 3 Macros on the Drum Rack. The Drum Rack needs to be selected (you’ll see a little hand icon) in order for those to work though.
Also, can you tell me where the user remote script folder is on Mac so I can include that in the Readme?

Thank you. To make the X/Y control other Macros, you’d have to get into the UserConfiguration file and change it. That is the file inside the nanoPAD folder that you put in the User Remote Scripts folder. Open that up and go down to where you see Encoder 1 – 8. Right now, you’ll see 52 – 54 next to Encoders 1 – 3. Just move those numbers to other encoders and change Encoder 1 – 3 back to “-1”. Save the file and relaunch Live.

so midi learn doesnt work at all with x/y pad? , so if i want to use x-y pad for different things in live, id have to know a certain number that corresponds ? how would i find that number?
and then id go into file an change that in order for it to work?
a bit complicated, with the pad kontrol, the x/y pad works with midi learn no?

You can map the X/Y pad to whatever you want in Live, but not in the Drum Rack scene you downloaded from here. In that scene, the X/Y controls the first 3 Macros on the Drum Rack. If you wanted to control other Macros with that scene (which is what I thought you were asking), you’d need to complete the steps I posted.

well thats ok, the macros are fine for drum rack, so lets say , i use another scene, for something else, how would i set the xy pad as crossfader or as maybe a filter control or something. would it just be midi learn?
yea the scene for drumrack works great,

Yup, just use Live's MIDI mapping mode for that. Also, on the MIDI/Sync page in Preferences, make sure the Remote switch is turned on for the nanoPAD's input.

i turned on remote, and it lets me use midimapping, but my question now is.. how do i get the crossfader to work smooth with the x/y pad, when i map it it has conflicts.. it also dost fade back and forth like a crossfader
