I think it would probably be easier to see an example, so I created one for you. This will work with Live 6 or 7 and it was made in Author, but should work in Pro I think. First, I’m sure you’re already aware of this, but you need to use 2 instances of Translator in order to do anything with native mode and Live. 1. Receives from the pK’s Port A and sends to the pK’s CTRL port. This is for handling the lights and display. 2. Receives from the pK’s Port A and sends to a virtual MIDI port (like MIDI Yoke). This is for translating the pK’s SysEx into MIDI CCs/notes or keystrokes that Live can recognize. The example I created is an example of #2. It includes both a BMT project and a Live project. To use it, you’ll need to put your pK into native mode. In BMT, select Port A as the In and one of your virtual ports as the Out. In Live, turn the Remote switch on for your virtual port. I created 3 psuedo-scenes that work just like the pK in normal mode. By default, you’ll be in Sc1. Press Scene+Pad 2 and you’ll be in Sc2. Scene+Pad 3 to get to Sc3. In Sc1, Pad 1 will mute Tr1. Pad 2 will solo Tr1. Pad 3 will arm Tr1. The Encoder will control Tr1 volume. Sc2 and 3 are the same except they control Tr2 and Tr3 respectively. Notice that the CCs in each scene are sending on different channels. Also take a look at the rules for each translator. Here’s the link: www.sendspace.com/file/98byleI hope that helps and let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks so much again for this. You really have gone out of your way to help me so much and it really is appreciated. If i can get my setup working like i want it to it will be like all my Christmases coming at once. I'm not back home until tomorrow night, but can't wait to get back and try this out. I'll let you know how i get on on the weekend.
Cheers

Merry Christmas Eve and almost a very Merry Christmas!!!!
Made massive steps forward with my setup now (massive thanks for your help with those templates! You were right, it was so much eaiser to get my head round being able to see it). Scenes are all working as i want, got the LED giving me a readout of which scene i'm in and which pad i'm pressing, which triggers a loop to play. I also have the pad light up to show which scene i'm in and which loop is playing from that scene when i press it. Also following what you did for the midi channels as outgoing messages it all works and i have all the control of all the loops i want. Got the hang of setting rules now too.
There's still a few things i'm trying to tweak, but i'm so happy i got this far now.
Thank you so much for all your help once again.
I hope you have a good christmas and new years and i'll catch you in 2008. I'll upload a video then of what i've manged to set up, as my explanaiton above probably doesn't make much sense at all!
Cheers
Tom

Hi, I just purchased MT pro in order to use the padKontrolller with a flash application for disabled kids we are working on. Basically we want to use the possibilities offered by the controller in native mode and make full use of the visual feedback (lights on-off, blinking etc...) I would really appreciate if you could re-activate the link above in the thread since it could provide me some crucial guidance. The things that i need to to be able is to switch scenes, use the pad as a mouse, toggle the pad lights. Any help on this is appreciated, thanks for your time!

Hi,
Sounds like a cool project you’re working on. I unfortunately don’t have the files I uploaded for Tems, but if you have any questions, I’ll do my best to help.
Regards,
Stray
