not obvious, I use the midi clip view and turn on the "prelisten" button and click the keys to test a note trigger rack function quickly. I hope you got your OSC output working again. I caused grey hairs in my case.....

I caused grey hairs in my case..... Ah, good "prelisten" tip! No I didn't. I don't even know what to ask anymore but I'm ready to give up... maybe down the line I'll come across some epiphany but... a month failing at this is enough. You've been most helpful schlapbe, I can't thank you enough!

anybody Please confirm the files at start of this thread are still functional for live 11 ? or were there updated files for this to work ? (I can no longer access slack , nor do Facebook .)
I have tried to get this working , I can receive "hello World" on ipad touchosc with [x-clip]OSC STR action , & have toggled a mute button using an X-Osc action triggered from a button in touchosc app ; so believe my OSC connections are correct BUT binding names & values are not working on stray's BindingViewer template from this thread .
Debug says 2x OSC useractions are successfully installed , & Dequote's StringMacro useraction is working correctly , so I'm confident useractions is installed correctly (though I also couldn't get X-Modes to work though "installed successfully" debug .)
Hoping easiest explanation is there is a later update to the user actions or TouchOsc template which someone could share here ....?
like others in this thread , i am greyer now than when I started down this rabbit hole
edit - forgot to mention there seems a bug that Prefs . refresh rate = 0 does not stop repeating message .

Hi cliffhanger, I can confirm that OSC output is working perfectly with the files form page one of this thread. Do you have the updated bindings extension version? But it sounds quite weird though. If you get OSC output with the OSC command, it should actually work ....

schlapbe I have Bindings v1.10b2 (still labelled Alpha) from my Isotonik account , files dated 29/30 Sept 22 . Maybe I should mention my ClyphX pro version is 1.30b3 also labelled Alpha from Isotonik account. Were there later (official release maybe) versions of these ? maybe obvious , but I forgot to mention that Bindings OSC output is also NOT showing in OSC monitor (whereas Hello World OSC STR does) so probably moreso an issue with bindings OSC output than the DeviceViewer template . thanks for your ongoing engagement & help on this forum .

well, these files are the latest. I still find it very weird, that osc output works, but binding doesn't.
Mayby obvious: OSC Output for bindings just work for the MAIN script, if you have bindings in XT-A etc, they won't generate any output. Could that be the error? one workaround for that is to set up "fake" bindings. I do this and that works reliably.

Hi, i m coming from "Touchable Pro", which has been abandoned by its developers, in the hope of replacing it with a custom made OSC Interface, just to witness yet another piece of software abandoned by its developer here? What a sad moment, lol. Jokes aside: This ClyphX+OSC Interface which is shown here www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn3_a49hUMU is so awesome, and yet i can't find any single other person on planet earth who re-made this in a youtube tutorial, step by step? Why? I would love to have some insights on how to achieve the core aspects of this awesome interface in 2023 with Clyphx pro.... How to make TouchOSC or other OSC Interfaces show a volume meter, clipnames, clip-playback-progress etc.? Is there any in-depth tutorial for that, please say yes I have to add that i m incredibly dumb, and have a hard time figuring out complex things based on many different intertwined forum posts, thus this forum could in no way be considered a 'step by step' tutorial for me.

Hey touch, I hear you! I know exactly what you mean! good news is, I am working on a tutorial series. Step by step, because I think that there is a need for this and there is no such tutorial (or series). Bad news is, it takes incredibly much time and I am behind my schedule. I reckon it will be next month or sometime before summer, before I start to publish them..... Good news again though, most of the tutorials will be free. more advanced topics will be accessible on a patreon and discord server.... I must say though that setting up OSC and getting a working template is quite a task. There are no or not much ready made solutions, but if you are willing to dive in, you'll get a 100% customised controller, which is very reliable! So hang in there, or you could "book" a zoom session with me and I could give you many answers to questions you might have...

Hi Everyone, this is my first post on this forum!
I encountered a problem with binding viewer and I thought I will share my solution in case anyone has the same issue.
The issue was that binding viewer was not working at all while OSC actions worked right away after installing user actions from the 1st post of this thread.
First I looked into log.txt file and saw that both actions were loaded properly:
2023-09-18T23:32:49.870933: info: Python: INFO:ClyphX_Pro.clyphx_pro.ClyphX_ProComponent:870 - Successfully imported OSCBindingViewerComponent! 2023-09-18T23:32:49.871356: info: Python: INFO:ClyphX_Pro.clyphx_pro.ClyphX_ProComponent:871 - Successfully imported OSCActions!
However couple of lines down I noticed something suspicious with the binding viewer:
2023-09-18T23:32:50.272301: error: RemoteScriptError: File "/Users/tomek/Music/Ableton/User Library/Remote Scripts/_user_actions/OSCBindingViewerComponent.py", line 99, in _do_init for i in xrange(bc.num_encoders):
2023-09-18T23:32:50.272308: error: RemoteScriptError: 2023-09-18T23:32:50.272324: error: RemoteScriptError: NameError: name 'xrange' is not defined After some googling I added the below line at the beginning of OSCBindingViewerComponent.py file:
from past.builtins import xrange Saved, rebooted Live and voila, now binding viewer works like a charm.
I'm not a programmer and I'm not sure if that's the proper solution but at least it worked for me.

siejeje Hallelujah & Thank You! , it finally works after months of struggling with this , adding your line of code makes it work for me . I had been able to use OSC STR commands to build an OSC display , with macros including OSC text to update my labels for an overview, but now adding Bindings viewer of each parameter update is excellent.

Hey siejeje, although this works, xrange was dropped with Python 3. just changing it to range is what Stray did. I guess I use files he sent the other day, while it was in alpha testing. I'll pots them with this post. OSCActions.py (2.35 KB) OSCBindingViewerComponent.py (5.14 KB) They should work with Ableton 11

Hello After some time where I could still handle my liveset with Touchable Pro, I am back in the OSC-Business . My connection with TouchOSC seems to work (I can trigger the METRO from TouchOSC and I receive the OSC-Messages for /track/name and /device/name when selecting) - but sending text with XClips ([test] OSC STR /name "Test123" does not work at all (nothing is received in the OSC-logs, but using some "debugging"-stuff with OSC MSG I could check that the methods in OSC (_send_osc_message_once()) are called properly. Anybody has an idea? Thanks & greets Basti
